Vision Statement:
We, the members of the Pastoral Board of the Catholic Charismatic Renewal in the
Diocese of Columbus, Ohio, Commit ourselves and call the Catholic charismatic
renewal movement to:

1. |
Serve God the Father, Son and Holy Spirit by serving
the Catholic Church in its primary mission of evangelization through
the power of the Holy Spirit. |

2. |
Foster a personal experience of Pentecost through
these basic elements of charismatic renewal:

committing oneself to Jesus Christ as Lord and
Savior,

being baptized in the Holy Spirit
-
receiving and using charismatic gifts,
-
developing a life of holiness in a Catholic context of faith and practice,
-
growing together as brothers and sisters in communities of faith and love,
-
witnessing to Jesus Christ through personal testimony and works of mercy and
justice.

Strengthen the Catholic charismatic renewal movement
through Life in the Spirit Seminars, networking, teaching,
leadership training and encouragement, in cooperation with the
diocesan liaison. |

4. |
Promote awareness and understanding of the Catholic
charismatic renewal movement. |
|
5. |
Relate to and work with other Catholic organizations
and movements serving the mission of the Church. |
|
6. |
Relate to and work with members of the other
Christian churches, denominations, bodies and ministries for unity
in the body of Christ and world evangelization. |

7. |
Raise the funds necessary to accomplish this
mission. |

The Catholic Charismatic Renewal Center was established in 1979 by Bishop Edward
J. Herrmann and continues under the authority of Bishop James A. Griffin through
his appointed liaison, Fr. Justin Reis, and a Pastoral Board consisting of seven
members. |
The Catholic Charismatic Renewal serves the Church through these ministries: |

THE PASTORAL
BOARD:
The members of the Pastoral Board serve the various Prayer Groups and other
leaders in the Renewal by meeting with them regularly and in supporting all the
ministries of the Renewal. |

CHARISMATIC PRAYER GROUPS:
A prayer meeting is a weekly gathering of Christians who give honor, praise and
worship to God through song, prayer (intercession - community and personal),
prophecy, tongues, Scripture reading, teaching, testimony and sharing with each
other the gifts of the Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians 12, 13, and 14)

LIFE IN THE SPIRIT SEMINARS:
These seminars are designed for bringing people into a deeper experience of the
Holy Spirit. The seminars are usually given once a week for eight weeks. The
Life In The Spirit Seminars are available to everyone.

WOMEN'S DAY OF RENEWAL:
Days of renewal are scheduled once a month. They include a celebration of Mass,
special speakers, praise and worship, prayer ministry, lunch and fellowship.
These days are special times of growth and healing as we experience God's love. |
 |
MONTHLY CHARISMATIC MASS:
We sponsor a monthly mass in different parishes in the diocese of Columbus and
vicinity. These beautiful Spirit-filled masses offer everyone a great
opportunity to experience and rediscover the power Jesus promised His people
through the Holy Spirit. |

RETREATS AND CONFERENCES:
These are three Charismatic Retreats held each year- - a spring Retreat, open to
everyone, a fall Women's Retreat and a Retreat for Men. These retreats, as well
as periodic Conferences feature well-known speakers and leaders in the
Charismatic Renewal.

BIBLE STUDIES, SEMINARS, AND DAYS OF RENEWAL:
Various types of seminars on Healing, Scripture Study, Gifts of the Holy Spirit
and other topics to deepen our spiritual life. |

EVANGELISTIC HEALING MASS PROJECT:
A special celebration of God's healing love with and evangelistic outreach at
various locations throughout the diocese, two times a year, followed by Life in
the Spirit Seminar. |
 |
TELIS:
The TELIS is a monthly newsletter, featuring inspired and timely articles,
teachings by national and local writers, news and calendar of upcoming events,
humor, prayer group listings and up-dates on current events. Suggested Donations
$12.00

BOOK, TAPE AND VIDEO MINISTRY:
The Renewal Center has an excellent selection of new books for purchase on
Spirit-filled growth, and living our Catholic Christian faith, healing,
forgiveness, marriage, and numerous other topics.
All of the talks given at our events are recorded on audio tapes and may be
purchased. The Center has a lending library of more than 2,000 audio tapes, and
a small variety of video tapes which may be borrowed. |

OPERATING BUDGET:
The work of the Catholic Charismatic Renewal is totally supported by free will
donations. |
RENEWAL CENTER HOURS
The Center is open Monday through Thursday from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
September through May. Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00
p.m. ,June through August.
