as pastors and teachers, to equip the holy ones for the work of ministry, for
building up the body of Christ, until we all attain to the unity of faith and
knowledge of the Son of God to mature manhood, to the extent of the full stature
of Christ” (Eph. 4:11-13).

Course Goals:
The primary goal of the Leadership School is to bring every student to a
greater maturity in Christ and in Christian living in order to prepare them to
lead, teach, and pray with their prayer group to help their members attain a
deeper conversion in Christ and a life of holiness.
Course Description:
This course is designed to prepare students to take on a leadership position
within their respective prayer groups. The series of leadership classes will
include topics that will enable the participants to:
- Understand the role of the Charismatic Renewal in the
- Catholic Church and in the Diocese.
- Establish and lead a prayer group and/or ministry.
- Conduct a Life in the Spirit Seminar.
- Pray over people in the Power of the Holy Spirit.
- Oversee, direct or lead anointed Praise and Worship.
- Exercise the gifts of the Holy Spirit in their own lives.

Introduction and Welcome
Gifts of the Holy Spirit
Expecting new fire of the Holy Spirit
Session 2:
History of the Catholic Charismatic Renewal
Role of the Catholic Charismatic Renewal
in the Diocese of Columbus
Session 3:
How to stir up the Gifts and Charisms of the
Holy Spirit in prayer meetings
Session 4:
Developing teachings and leading vibrant
prayer meetings
Session 5:
How to pray over people in the power of the Holy Spirit
How to lead an anointed praise and worship
Session 6:
Conducting Life in the Spirit Seminars
Awarding of Leadership certificates
Course Eligibility:
The course will be open to any person who has been baptized in the Holy Spirit
and has felt the call for greater involvement in the leadership of the prayer
group. A written recommendation from their prayer group leader, who will act as
the student’s sponsor and mentor, is required.
Course Format:
All sessions will begin with praise and worship and end with personal
ministry to the students. There will be no examinations but attendance will be
taken.
The following class format is suggested but teachers are encouraged to be
flexible in order to allow the leading of the Holy Spirit:
Praise and Worship - 15-20 minutes
Teaching - 60 minutes
Small group sharing - 60 minutes
Personal ministry - 15-20 minutes
The course will be held at the Catholic Charismatic Renewal office at 4207 East
Broad Street Suite C, Columbus, Ohio. Please call for the schedule.
Faculty:
The teachers of each course will be discerned and appointed by the Pastoral
Board of the Catholic Charismatic Renewal. Teachers will be chosen according to
their knowledge of the course, level of maturity in the Christian life and
willingness to respond generously to God’s call to serve.
Fees:
There will be $35.00 cost to the student to help defray the cost of materials,
classroom use, snacks, and other expenses. A love offering for the Catholic
Charismatic Renewal Center will be appreciated. |
